Bernese News EXTRA 15th August 2017

I would like to say thank you to Paignton Championship show for inviting me to judge our lovely 
breed at this well run show, the hospitality was good and the accommodation was excellent. Also 
to my two stewards for their help in keeping the ring moving smoothly. 

I was overall pleased with all my exhibits, they were a clean and well groomed and all exhibits had  
correct bites and some lovely exhibits although placed down the line or went unplaced will no doubt 
change places with the exhibits in front of them
Puppy Dog  (5 entries, 1 absentee) 
1st King & Green's Joseph Vom Durrbachler Wald At Arvella (Imp Ned.
 11 months. Well built 
puppy of good proportions. Dark eye. Strong neck onto well placed shoulders, good angulation, 
level topline. Good bone. Moved well and covered the ring with ease.. Best Puppy
2nd Bridges' Kernow Troubadour.  Very similar to 1st, I am sure these two will change places. 
Well placed shoulders, level topline. Good bone, moved well, just preferred movement of 1st.
3rd Cullumbern Roman Road At Kernow.

Junior Dog  (2) 
1st King & Bramble's Shirdees Leathal Weapon. 
14 months, medium framed boy. Good head with 
lovely dark eyes. Good reach of neck, good angulation fore and aft, level topline. Good bone, moved 
well once settled.  
2nd Butchers' Arvella Mr Penny Pincher At Jenzobern.  Just 12 months, medium to upper size 
boy. Nice head with dark eye. Level topline, and good angulation. Moved wide in front but he still needs 
to fill his frame.

Post Graduate Dog  (4, 1)  
1st Bridges' Deerpark Traveling Man V Kernow (Imp).
 2 years old.  Well developed boy of good 
size and shape. Head strong with dark eye and markings. Good reach of neck into well developed 
shoulders. Level topline, good angulation fore and aft. Lovely bone, moved well.  
2nd  Allison's Tickbern Space Cowboy For Alisnobern.   3½  years,  another nice boy. Lovely head 
with nice dark eye. Strong neck, good angulation, level topline held on the move. Good bone, shown in 
good coat. Moved well just preferred movement of 1st.   
3rd Akehurst's Jesterbrook Alpine Storm.

Limit Dog  (4, 1) 
1st Hastings' Bernemcourt Liv’n On A Prayer
.  3 years, medium sized boy. Lovely head, dark 
eye. Strong bone. Level topline, good angulation, shown in good condition, moved well.     
2nd Hughes' Give Me Five From Christofland For Carraigbern.   3 years boy of good proportion. 
Strong head. Good angulation and bone, level topline. Moved well. Very close decision between 1st 
and 2nd   
3rd Avery's Lujento Morse.

Open Dog  (5, 1)  
1st Hartley-Mair, & Dybdall's Ch Meadowpark High Class.
 Just short of 3 years. Well built lad, 
strong head, dark eye. Good reach of neck, good shoulder placement. Good bend of stifle, level 
topline held on the  move, covered the ground with ease, just oozes quality. Dog CC and Best of 
2nd Green's Alpenspirit Pure Pleasure For Arvella (Imp).
 4 years lad of good proportions. Lovely 
strong head with dark eye, strong neck with good reach onto well placed shoulders. Good angulation 
fore and aft, level topline held on the move.  Good bone. Moved and covered the ground well.  
Reserve CC.

Puppy Bitch  (12,3)    
1st Spencer's Padiky Starr Studded Skye
.  9 months girl of good size. Well marked with dark eyes. 
Good angulation fore and aft, good bone, level topline which she held on the move. Moved well. Shown
in top condition.
2nd Weston's Bernfawr Jonquill.  Just a baby at 7 months, another girl with lovely head and feminine 
expression. Dark eye, correct bite. Good reach of neck, good angulation, ample bone. Level topline. 
Moved well and covered the ground with ease.  
3rd Morgan's Judabern Betty Blue. A very strong class and some good exhibits went unplaced.

Junior Bitch  (9, 2)  
1st King & Bramble's Shirdees Miss Congeniality.
 14 months, very pretty girl of medium build.
Lovely head with kind dark eye, good ear carriage. Strong neck onto well placed shoulders and good 
angulation fore and aft. Level topline, shown in superb condition, should have a bright future.   
2nd Weston's Bernfawr Jonquill.     
3rd Flanagan's Collansues Something Magic.

Post Graduate Bitch  (9, 1)   
1st Bridges' Kernow All My Loving.
 3 years girl of medium size and build. Feminine head and dark 
eye, correct bite. Ample neck, good angulation fore and aft, level topline. Ample bone, moved well.. 
2nd Hughes' Werlwind’s Celtic Dream For Carraigbern.  2 years, very feminine girl of good
proportions. Very feminine head and dark eye. Good reach of neck onto good shoulders. Good 
angulation, level topline, moved well.  
3rd Flanagan's Collansues Mountain Angel.

Limit Bitch  (5, 4) 
1st Miles' Save Dallas Kiss For Jaybiem.
 3½ years, medium girl who stood alone but deserved 
her placing. Feminine head and kind dark eye. Good reach of neck onto strong shoulders. Good
angulation fore and aft,  level topline. Shown in good coat, moved well. 

Open Bitch  (11, 4)  
1st Sutton's Ch Bernsteph Dior Remember Me JW ShCM.  4 years girl in super condition. 
Feminine head with lovely dark eyes. Good reach of neck onto strong shoulders, good angulation 
fore and aft. Level topline which she held on the move. Liked this girl as a junior and still doesn't 
disappoint.  Bitch CC.   
2nd Atherton's Ch Athersbern Peronelle Blush.  5 years lovely girl with very happy attitude which 
shows in the ring. Very feminine with pleasing dark eyes. Good neck onto well muscled shoulders. 
Good angulation fore and aft, level topline. Moved around the ring with ease.  Reserve CC. 
3rd Allison's Tickbern Quick Step For Alisnobern.

Veteran Bitch  (2)   

1st Richards' Ch Tickbern Naughty But Nice Von Richenbern.  7½ years feminine lady, good  
head and eye, correct bite. Strong shoulders, good angulation fore and aft, good bone. Kept her 
topline on the move, covered the ground well. Judged this girl as a puppy and liked her then.   
2nd Wood's Tamarbern Dusky Maiden.  7½ years feminine lady, good head but eyes could be 
darker. Well marked, with good bone, good bend of stifle, level topline. In full coat and well turned
out, just preferred movement of 1st. Another I judged as a puppy and liked.
