LEICESTER CITY CS OPEN SHOW 26th August 2019

I would like to thank Leicester City Canine Society for inviting me to judge Bernese Mountain Dogs at their Open Show, I thoroughly enjoyed my day. Thank you to my stewards for assisting me with the smooth running of my ring. I was pleased to see both my Best of Breed and Best Puppy take Group 3 in their Groups.

Puppy  (3 entries)
1st Wright and Kirk’s Objet D’Art Du Hameau De Baika Avec Roesilbern (Imp Fra).

Promising 11 month old puppy bitch. Pretty, feminine head, a little narrow at the moment but this should come with maturity. Correct almond shaped, dark eyes. Good topline. Well bodied with good spring of rib. Good proportions and enough bone for size. Good angles and nice bend of stifle. Correct tail set and carriage. Her movement was sound in all directions, today this won her the class. Beautifully presented and attentive to her handler. Pleased to award her Best Puppy.
2nd Bird’s Cullumbern Milano. A young, male, 9 month old puppy. Promising head which is developing well with good stop, flat skull, melting dark eyes and correct ears. Correct proportions and good bone for his size. Well bodied with good spring of rib. Balanced angles front and back with good bend of stifle. Movement could be tidier in front but appears good in profile and moves well with drive from the rear. Well presented and handled but he seemed a little distracted.
3rd Mrozowska's Lawenda Przyniose Ci Szczescie FCI (Imp Pol)

Junior  (3 entries)
1st Miles’ Jaybiem Alia Iacta Est.
16 month old bitch with lots to like about her. Strong, well proportioned girl with good bone and substance yet still remains feminine. Correct dark, almond eyes on her classically marked head. Well angulated front and back with good bend of stifle. Deep, well ribbed chest. Topline appears to dip when stacked but hands on it is straight and levels when moving. Correct tail carriage. Sound movement in all directions. Unfortunately she is dropping her coat so didn’t look her best today.
2nd Kluge’s Megan Stroz Zagrody (Imp Pol). 15 month old bitch. Another substantial bitch with good bone and proportions. She has a feminine head with dark markings. Dark, almond eyes but I would prefer her lids to be a little tighter. Good neck leading to well laid shoulders. Short in upper arm. Well bodied with good spring of rib. She would benefit from a little more bend of stifle. Good tail set and carriage. In good coat and condition. Movement was good when she settled, unfortunately she decided to pace at times.
3rd Round’s Collansues Wildest Dreams

Open  (6 entries, 4 absentees)
1st Miles’ Ch Jaybiem My My My JW.
A lovely 3 ½ year old bitch who is full of breed type. Pretty, classically marked head with good amount of stop and flat skull. Kind, dark, almond eyes and a gentle expression. Good length of neck leading onto correct front quarters. Good angles fore and back and nice bend of stifle. Held her topline well and correct tail carriage. Lovely outline with correct proportions and strong bone. Clean, effortless mover. Loved her! Pleased to award her Best Of Breed.
2nd Worrall’s Jesterbrock Dragonstone At Oakbern.
A 2 year old bitch who has a smaller frame to 1st. A very feminine girl who was beautifully groomed and presented. Pretty head with good stop and flat skull. Correct, almond shaped dark eyes. Generally well constructed with good proportions. Would prefer a touch more bend of stifle. Moves well in front but is a little close behind. This girl had a lovely temperament and clearly enjoyed her day.
