BORDER UNION CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 18th June 2017

Puppy Dog  (2 entries,  2 absentees)

Junior Dog  (6, 2)
1st Griffiths, Orme & Miles Jaybiem With N’Without Y’Zeus.
Substantially built male in good
condition and good coat. Pleasing head, good dark almond eye, well defined stop, well set ears.
Sound front build with good depth of chest and well laid shoulders. A little heavier than perhaps
ideal, and noticeable across his ribs and loin. Sufficient rear angulation and moved soundly and
steadily although I would like to see a little more animation and drive.
2nd Addison’s Monalou Bollinger. Looking a little less finished than 1st but nevertheless a
promising youngster with good head and expression. Nicely constructed fore and aft but still
looking a little tucked-up through the loin. Moved well once settled.
3rd Jefferson's Shirdees Fast And Furious.

Novice Dog  No entries

Graduate Dog  (3)
1st Griffiths, Orme & Miles' Jaybiem With N’Without Y’Zeus.
2nd Perks' Kernow Festival Buzz
. 2 year old, medium size with nice head. Well placed shoulders,
sufficient bone for size. Looks good in profile with a good level topline.Moved out well, perhaps a tad
close at rear but with plenty of reach and drive.

Post Graduate Dog  (6, 1)
1st Dickson’s Monalou Vino Verde At Geruth.
Broad head with dark eye, strong, well defined stop.
A little loose in the flews. Solidly and soundly constructed with good angulation. Moved with purpose.
2nd Fairclough's Monalou Spirit Of Discovery. A close run class and just pipped at the post as he
was a little unsettled by extraneous noise (made by thoughtless spectators rattling the metal ring
fences). However, he is a fine exhibit, good head, well-constructed and moved with an easy gait
that covered the ground deceptively efficiently.

Limit Dog  (5, 1)
1st Bird & Bridges' Kernow Something.
Good head with well-defined stop, typical tight almond eye
and good breadth of skull.  Pleasing outline with good conformation. Strong bone covered with well-
developed musculature, broad and deep chest, well defined shoulders, level topline, strong well
angled hind quarters. Animated and lively – one could say a bit of a fidget – but moved out with an
even, rhythmic gait and drive. Pleased award Dog CC and Best of Breed.
2nd King's Elnside The Grandmaster.  Lovely shape and outline and in excellent condition. He
presented well with nice head, good topline and sound construction. His stand-out feature today was
the way he moved with a smooth but powerful action. Reserve CC.
3rd Addison’s Torralbaz Lord Of The Manor.

Open Dog  (7, 4)
1st Scott's Welshbern One Vision At Scobern ShCM.
Mid to upper size, shown in good condition.
Good head shape with correct stop, dark almond eye and ear placement. Level topline which he
held on the move and looked well balanced and well angulated. Moved well.
2nd Wright & Kirk’s Materabern Good Friday. Good size dog with good overall shape and
substance. Pleasing head and expression. Looks quite cobby in construction which gives him an
attractive outline and shape in profile. He moved with energy and drive and looks strong viewed
from side and rear, slightly less so from the front. Handled well and mad the most of his many fine
qualities.
3rd Carty’s Floskirk Berneray.

Veteran Dog  (4, 2)
1st Brennand’s Malindi Beach Of Bonningate.
Always a pleasure and a privilege to judge the
veterans in our breed, and the two dogs here today were a credit to their owners. This class was
won on movement and this exhibit strode around the ring like a dog half his age. he is medium
sized, with good angulation and a nice head and expression. He is still in fine condition and moved
with a lively gait.
2nd Scott’s Welshbern Trafys Of Scobern ShCM. Another well  presented exhibit in good
condition. Just a little less polished on the move.

Puppy Bitch  (3, 1)
1st Flanagan’s Collansues Precious Rock.
10 month old bitch, showing much promise. Head is
yet to fully develop but she has a lovely expression and nice dark eye. Good overall shape with
conformation and angulation generally good although she – like many her age - stands a little high
over the croup at the moment. On the move she is very well coordinated for a puppy and moved
freely and cohesively around the ring. Best Puppy in Breed.
2nd Bird & Head’s Cullumbern Roman Toga With Millermead.
Another bitch puppy with much to
commend her. Good shape and strong bone. Perhaps a little too heavy at the moment but otherwise
in excellent condition.  Bit of a fidget and was rarely still but nevertheless her inherent quality was
still in evidence and some liveliness at this age can always be forgiven.

Junior Bitch  (6, 2)
1st King & Bramble’s Shirdees Miss Congeniality.
Junior bitch with good substance and balance
and appearance beyond her still young age. She has a really well developed head of excellent shape
and definition, well bodied and in very good condition, and well built, although I wouldn’t like to see
her any heavier. Can sometimes look a little high at the rear, but this is undoubtedly age related, but
well angulated front and rear which translates into sound movement with good reach and drive and a
balanced and effortless gait. She is one to definitely watch.
2nd Pawlyszyn’s Materas Record Label.  Pretty and balanced bitch given her tender age, her head
is not quite so advanced as 1st but otherwise another well-proportioned bitch. Coat looks a little red-
tinged in the sunshine today, although it remains in good condition and she presented, and was
handled very well.
3rd Tomkins' Kinelarty Ellen Ray Of Light For Bernershaw.

Novice Bitch  (2)
1st McPherson’s Doodles Painted Lady.
Medium sized bitch with nice head, almond eye and
sufficient stop. Good level topline and sound construction and conformation.Moved reasonably well
if a little close when viewed from rear.
2nd Grimes' Fortonpark Future Dreams. Substantially built bitch in good coat and condition. Mind
wasn’t on the job today and although she has a lovely, friendly temperament she wasn't performing
for her handler and was rather ponderous on the move.

Graduate Bitch  (2)
1st Davidson’s Meadowpark Pure Breeze.
Medium sized bitch with good bone and substance.
Well shaped head with good stop, dark almond eye and correct ears. Neck flows into level  topline
and shows good conformation with good angulation and well let down pasterns. Moved well.
2nd Perks' Bernfawr Hot Spice. Pretty medium sized bitch, who, when stood correctly, has a
pleasing outline. She has a tendency to stand a little bunched which can detract from this overall
picture. Moved with drive, if a little wide at the front and I definitely wouldn't want to see her any
heavier.

Post Graduate Bitch  (4)
1st Flanagan’s Mountain Angel.
Very typey bitch with attractive, dark markings, excellent head
shape and well defined stop. Good conformation with good shoulders, deep chest and well angulated
hind quarters. In profuse coat and excellent condition. Attentive to handler and made a very pleasing
picture. Although sound, she was a tad ponderous on the move, I'd like to see a little more animation
and drive.
2nd McCormicks Monalou Star Princess. Good head and expression, with a naturally good stance
with head held high. More slightly built than 1st but nevertheless sufficient bone, well angulated front
and just enough at the rear. Held her topline on the move and moved well.
3rd Thompson's Trudaleaze Shes Gorjus At Brierbern.

Limit Bitch  (6)
1st Marsden & Robertson’s Trudaleaze Majik Potion.
Good sized bitch with good head, eye and
dentition, stop a fraction shallow but sufficiently defined. Well-proportioned and angulated front, well
bodied with strong topline and good rear angulation. This sound conformation and musculature
translated into excellent movement with reach and drive and a powerful, effortless gait giving the
impression that she could do the job of work she was bred for with aplomb. Bitch CC.
2nd Flanagan’s Collansues Heart Of Gold. Another well proportioned bitch of solid build and bone.
It was a close call as she has many fine qualities but was not quite so fluid on the move.
3rd Bird’s Kernow Let It Be At Cullumbern JW.

Open Bitch  (6, 2)
1st McCormicks Monalou Artic Queen.
Substantial, no-nonsense bitch with good bone, well bodied
and in fine condition. Can look a little rump-high but this is more to do with feet placement and set up
and when positioned correctly and settled into her hips has good hind angulation with well turned
stifles. Moved strongly and with purpose. Reserve CC.
2nd Griffiths, Slade & Orme's Jaybiem Vou Doo At Potterspride JW.  Medium sized compact
bitch, well bodied and in good coat. Nice head and expression, good deep chest and well angulated
front. Rear quarters not quite so strong as front, but good nevertheless.
3rd Thompson’s Alphanova Rosetta At Brierbern

Veteran Bitch  (1, 1)
Judge - Mark Wakeland (Bramikdel)
