"The Central Bernese Mountain Dog Club Xmas Party was held at Overseal Village Hall on
November 26th 2017. For the last eleven years our club has held its Xmas Party and invited
local people to bring their dogs along to have a fun day, as well as our gorgeous Bernese
Mountain dogs.

"This year we have excelled and had more than 40 dogs coming with their owners to have an
amazing day. Twelve classes with rosettes 1st to 5th place and prizes for each winner with a
special rosette for Best Variety Adult, Best Puppy and Best Veteran. The Fancy Dress class was
hilarious and I gave a special prize for the Best Adult with creative costume for the dog and a
prize for Best Child. This year I had a lovely prize for the owner of the oldest dog in the room
(Julie Fajardo’s Cocker 14.5 yrs) the last class of the day is for Bernese Mountain only and we
had more attending this year than ever, they came from Sheffield, Worcestershire and other

"I was pleased to see everyone admiring our beautiful breed as not many people have seen them
apart from at Crufts and to see how huge they are but gentle as giants. We also held a raffle with
some lovely prizes and then everyone tucked into our gorgeous buffet the ladies in the kitchen
had laid on.

"I’m sure that the months it takes to prepare for something like this did not go unrewarded as it
looked as though fun, frivolity and enjoyment was had by all. Thank you all for bringing your dogs
to have a great time with us and if you didn’t make it this year watch out for our next event on
20th May 2018. (Main Bernese Open Show plus Companion Show). Further information web site'
