Bernese News 27th February 2017

Popular carting enthusiast Glenn White sadly passed away on 18th January and his funeral
fwas held on 3rd February 2017 at West Herts Crematorium.

It was the wish of his family that donations in memory of Glenn should be directed to Bernese
Welfare UK (rescue and rehoming).

On Saturday 25th February I received an envelope containing some cheques and a letter from
Glenn's very good friends Tim Williams and Margaret Bailey which read;"... a total of £800
was donated in honour of Glenn White, what an amazing amount, just shows what a popular
character Glenn was.  He loved his Bernese and we all know he would have been proud of the
donations, so kindly given by his friends and family. Glenn will be missed by many."
And he will.  A few days earlier I had received a cheque for £15 from another of Glenn's friends
to be added to that total.

I would like to thank those who nominated Bernese Welfare UK to receive this wonderful gift, and
my sincere appreciation to all those who donated.  Also in the same envelope was an additional
cheque for £500 for Bernese Welfare UK from the Midland Bernese Carters - monies generated
by their attendance over several days at the Waddesdon Manor event. Thank you all so much for
for the wonderful work you do educating "Joe Public" about our breed and for the repeated
financial support you give which has benefited so many needy Bernese.
