Bernese News 23rd February 2019

Keen eyed TV viewers watching the Martin Lewis Money Show screened on ITV on Monday 18th February spotted Martin Lewis walking through the crowd at Cheshire Show then pausing to say "Hello" to the Bernese and attempting to stroke the Bernese at the beginning of programme 9 of Series 8. The Bernese can be seen 37 seconds into the screening with handler Chris Wilson at the other end of the lead. Those who missed it can find it on their TV catch-up service or to view it online visit the ITV hub

Agnes Wilson, secretary of the BMD Club of Scotland sent me the results of the Club Open Show held on Sunday 17th February at the usual venue, the Cochrane Hall at Alva. Much appreciated Agnes!

The judge this year was breed specialist John McNulty (Bernhaven) who had drawn 44 entries with 16 absentees across the 22 classes plus 2 NFC. His critique is copied further down this column.

For comparison the entry at the 2018 show was 48 entries with 17 absentees for breed specialist Julie Ann Wright (Roesilbern).
