Stan Lea passed away on 1st January 2015 after a long illness braveley borne.
Stan passed away in Yeovil District Hospital where he had been admitted 3 days earlier.
Stan was 86 years old. Sincere condolences to Stan's wife Pam, daughter Stephanie,
son and family and friends.
Stan was co-opted onto the committee of the BMD Club of Great Britain in September 1997,
and stepped in to take over the job as that club's rescue coordinator from 1999 until 2002 when
he left the committee.
The funeral service will take place at 3pm on Wednesday 21st January 2015 at Mendip
Crematorium, Old Wells Road, Croscombe, Wells, BA5 3RR (approx 5 miles from Shepton

Family flowers only please but donations may be made in Stan's memory to the RNLI and
forwarded to Forsey and Sons Funeral Directors, Pound Pool, Somerton, TA11 6LZ.

On a personal note, I got to know Stan and got on very well with him when he was actively involved
in Bernese rescue; we spoke fairly regularly and shared information and some good humoured
banter on many occasions during that time and he was always kind, helpful, professional and
nothing less than a real gentleman who did his best for no self gain and was committed to the
welfare of dogs in general and Bernese in particular. After the passing his Bernese, in his latter
years he and his wife Pam enjoyed the companionship of a much loved Spaniel.
