Melody - Ch Tickbern Miss Chief
January 2009 ~ January 2017

Jim Stevens and Penny Cooke emailed;
"There's an empty "special place" in our lounge tonight, but another new star shines, you can't
miss it, it's the biggest and the brightest in the sky!! The most amazing girl spread her wings
and flew away to freedom from her cancerous body. Melody passed peacefully away after losing
her battle with Hystio Sarcoma.

"A once in a lifetime girl who championed in everything she did every day of her life, Mel gave
everything of herself herself every minute and we were privileged to share that time with her.
Born on the 20th January 2009 the only girl in a litter of five, we knew she was special, little did
we know !!! After qualifying for Crufts in 2010 she went on to win Best Puppy, At eighteen months
she gained her GB Championship.

"She then took time out to be a mother to ten beautiful pups, came back to the show ring and was
second Open Bitch Crufts 2013. At Crufts 2014 she was Bitch CC and Reserve Best of Breed, then
again at Crufts 2015 Bitch CC and Reserve Best of Breed, In between her major shows she had a
second litter of nine babies, amassed 17 CCs, 11 with BOB, 15 Reserve CCs, 1 Group 4, 2 Group
2s. She was Best in Show at the Bernese Mountain Club jubilee championships. She also made
her mark in Europe, her first show at the French Championships she came 2nd Open Bitch in a
class of 83. In Narbonne RCAC, Perpignan, CACIB, CACS, Marseille, CACIB, CACS and BOB.
In her last show in the UK at the 2016 GB Club championships she was awarded Reserve CC and
Best Veteran.

"She loved the show ring and for her last outing we took her back to her heartland Switzerland,
where in Geneva she had her last lap of honour after 2nd Open Bitch.

"She lives on in our hearts and in her offspring, very hard to come to terms with her loss; being
without her was something we didn't contemplate so soon, a void that will take a lot of getting used
to. R.I.P our special girl GB Ch Tickbern Miss Chief. xxxx".
