Akira ~ Lintock Quick Step

3rd June 2005 ~ 10th June 2015.

Cheryl Doran emailed;

"We have just had the hardest day of our life, as we had to say goodbye to the sweetest, most
loving girl we have ever known. Such a big part of our life is missing. A big sister to our two
human children and our 'First Born'. 10 Years and 1 week old, but its never enough time. It
was a big shock at the time as she never exhibited any signs of illness other than what could
be due to old age. Our first Bernese Mountain Dog, and she stole our heart. Run free Akira.
Hope you are at peace now.  x"

Jackie Green emailed;

"As the Summer is now here and we are lacking a bit of motivation Di Atherton and Jackie
Green have decided to do a sponsored ‘Slimathon’. We are aiming to lose 10% of our body
weight within a 13 week period starting now. We have been weighed in and have emptied
the shops of salad and fruit. We are both going to, hopefully, raise lots of money for Bernese
Welfare so if you would like to sponsor either one of us just let us know.

"More importantly, if anyone would like to join in for a bit of moral support and to raise money
for Bernese Welfare, or your own good cause, we would be happy to hear from you, the more
the merrier. So from today until Thursday 15th October if you see either one of us with
chocolate please take it away from us."

Jackie also tells me that she and Di have some of the lovely coloured metal "Friends of
Bernese Welfare" pin badges still available and these can be obtained from both Jackie
and Di who will be attending many of the upcoming Ch Shows and Club events.

Chris Wood emailed;

"Just wanted to let the group know that Layla, aka Tamarbern Dusky Maiden, was Best
AVNSC then went on to win Working group 4 at Totnes & District open Show on Sunday
19th July under Mr Russell Jones (Quemerford).  He said how much he liked Bernese
and that she moved beautifully. So pleased."
