Bernese News 24th July 2016

I received a telephone call from Richard Elvidge telling me the very sad news that his wife Pat
(Korinti) had passed away on 9th July.

Pat had been receiving treatment for ovarian cancer but she lost her battle after fighting the disease
so bravely for 18 months and passed away suddenly in hospital after being admitted just a few hours
earlier.  Pat was only 62 years old.

Pat had owned Bernese since the 80's plus a few St Bernards, attended many shows and events
over a couple of decades and Pat had a very recognisable, wonderfully 'gravelly' voice which she
used to great effect to compliment her sense of humour!  Losing a much loved St Bernard only very
recently, at the time of her passing Pat and Richard owned two Bernese namely 9 year old Beau, 2
year old Maisie plus a little Pug x Shih Tzu called Cookie who will remain at their home with Richard.

The funeral will take place at 2pm on Friday 12th August 2016 at Lincoln Crematorium,
Washingborough Road, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, LN4 1EF.  Family flowers only but there will be a
collection for charity at the crematorium.

Afterwards there will be a reception at the Pride of Lincoln, Whisby Road, Lincoln, LN6 3QZ.
Anyone who knew Pat is welcome to attend the funeral and it would be helpful to  let Richard know
beforehand so that numbers can be catered for.  Call Richard on 01522 686443.

Sincere condolences to Richard, daughter Charlotte and sons Phillip, Danny and Matthew and all
family and friends.

"Bono was given sleep following the results of an MRI scan on Tuesday showing that Bono had a
spinal tumour. The site of the tumour indicated that there was no hope.
A true gentleman to the end.
A friend to all who knew him.

"My Roman. Another claimed by histio

"For four and a half years you filled my eyes with your beauty and presence, with the ease at which
you moved, with your soft benevolent look. Now my eyes are filled with rivers of tears. Your bed is
still there but it's empty, your collar has no big head to put it over, your dish is empty as is my heart.

"I loved you so much Roman, four and a half years wasn't long enough.

"Thank you for all the glorious memories I have and for your beautiful children and for all those big
cuddles we shared to the end. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. "
