Bernese News 6th July 2016


At Windsor Championship Show 2016 breed specialist Gill Sharman was the replacement judge
for Helen Davenport-Willis who had withdrawn from the appointment due to  injury. 
There were 68 entries with 22 absentees across 16 classes. 

Collecting a third CC each were Collansues Black Magic and Meadowpark Living My Dream At
Fortonpark, the latter taking Best of Breed. 

The Reserve Dog CC went to the well known Ch Meadowpark High Class owned by the Mair and 
Dybdall partnership.

The Reserve Bitch ticket went to another youngster, Anne Wells' homebred Bernfold Pawpatrol 
Chase who is 14 months old and sired by Charmsway Adventurer x Bernfold Spring Blossom. 

Best Puppy went to Julie Baldwin's 6 month old homebred Fortonpark Chasing Dreams who is
sired by Ch Meadowpark Vertigo JW x the CC and Best of Breed winner Meadowpark Living My
Dream at Fortonpark.

  8 years old and still in good condition.  Very well
balanced and sound all through.  Lovely masculine head with flat skull, well set-on ears etc.,
He moves out well fore and aft.  Best Veteran.
2nd Turner's Ch Tangyachates Beachcomber.  Well balanced with good bone, soundly
constructed and in good coat.  Nice head and good dentition.

Minor Puppy Dog  (2 entries., 1 absentee) 
1st Biggins' Tangyachates Echo Beach At Greybern. 
  8 months old, in good coat.  Good head
and expression, good length of neck leading to level topline.  Balanced all through. Moved a little
close behind.

Puppy Dog  (5, 1)
1st Westlake's Apriori Uill Smith For Jesterbrook (Imp Rus).
 Good head and skull, good bite. 
Good reach of neck leading to well placed shoulders and good front.  Nice depth of rib for age,
short loin. Best Puppy Dog.
2nd Lack's Jo-Ben Vom Roennbaum.  Nice head, ear set and bite with dark tan.  Needs time to
mature.  Movement at front OK but needs to tighten at rear.
3rd  Whiddett's Meadowpark One And Only.

Junior Dog  (5, 1) 
1st King (handling for Barsby & Bonham) Halesbern Naughty But Nice.
  Good head, ear set
and bite.  Good length of neck, good shoulder placement.  Balanced all through with good bone.
Tight feet, movement needs to improve.
2nd Vaughan's Prentalu Barakello.  Finer than 1st, slightly narrow in front.  Good topline and
in good coat.  Good depth of rib, short loin. Movement not at its best today. 
3rd Lack's Jo-Ben Vom Roennbaum

Yearling Dog  (6, 1) 
1st Rothery's Glamrock Graffiti Artist.
Good head and skull, well set on ears, good bite, dark
eye.  Good reach of neck leading to well laid shoulders. Good depth and spring of rib, short loin
and good croup and tail set.  Moved steadily.
2nd  Bridges' Kernow Something.  Nice head and good ear set.  Dark eyes. Nice reach of neck,
good shoulder placement and front.  Sound in body, good rear.  In good coat.  Close decision
between 1st and 2nd. 
3rd Wells (Handling for Boreham) Deberni Viscount For Broels.

Beginners Dog  (1)
1st Cornillet's Jigsaw Du Harras De La Vergne.
  Nice head with broad skull. Good bite. Well
balanced all through.  Good strong bone.  Moved out well.

  Good head with good bite.  Well set on
ears, dark eye.  Lovely alert expression.  Good reach of neck, well laid shoulders and good front. 
Good depth of chest.  Short loin, strong rear.  In good coat, moved with drive
2nd Miles' Orlando Bloom At Jaybiem JW.  Good head, ear set, bite etc.  Well balanced
throughout with good depth and spring of rib.  Sound on the move.

Mid Limit Dog  (6)

  Lovely head and expression with good bite and dark
eye.  Well set on ears.  Correct reach of neck leading to well placed shoulders and straight
front. Good depth and spring of rib, short loin, strong rear. Hind quarters well developed. Moved
with ease reaching well from the front and driving from the rear. Dog CC and Best of Breed.
2nd Gorbould's Baronbern Dino No Two.  Good head with good bite and ear set.  Soft
expression.  Well balanced throughout with good bone and substance.  Moved out well. 
3rd Page's Tulipanos Berni Mr McEnroe (Imp Hun). 

Limit Dog  (4) 
1st  Round's Collansues Black Magic.
Good head and expression, correctly set on ears. Nice
reach of next leading to well placed shoulders and good front.  Goo depth and spring of rib. Strong 
loin and croup.  Set out in lovely condition.  Moved out well both ways. Reserve Dog CC.
2nd Westlake's Glanzberg Day Ryder For Jesterbrock.  Good head and expression. Well
bodied, Good lay of shoulder and sound rear.  Moved well.
3rd Hyland's Charmsway Adventurer. 

Open Dog  (2, 1) 
1st Connelly's Carabaz New Blues. 
Nice head with good ear set.  Good bite, dark eye, pleasing
expression, well balanced with good lay of shoulders and strong hind quarters.  Moved out well

Veteran Bitch  (7, 3)

  8 years old, feminine head with well set on ears and
good mouth.  Good neck and shoulders.  Balanced all through.  Good bone. Sound rear, moved
well. In good coat. 
2nd Stannard's Bernbienaime First Love At Kohbern.  Good head, bite etc,. Good front and
rear angulation.  Balanced all through. Still sound on the move. 
3rd  Blake's Tangyachates Young Dream At Brenodor.  

Minor Puppy Bitch  (3, 1) 
1st Clough's Bernarks Now Or Never.
  6 month old baby.  Balanced with good coat and dark
tan.  Sweet head with good bite.  Good lay of shoulder and good rear angulation.  Moved well
for age. 
2nd Flaxman's Glanzberg See The Sun.  Good head with good bite, neat ears.  Nice lay of
shoulders, good rear angulation.  Depth of chest good for age.  Well balanced, moved well.
Puppy Bitch  (2)
1st Page's Halesbern Skye Fall.  Best Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy
2nd Page's Halesbern Star In The Skye. 
Two very similar youngsters (I had written this before
I knew they were litter mates.)  Both have nice heads with good bite and ear set.  Good 
expressions.  Good fronts and rear angulation.  Nice depth and spring of rib for age and both
nicely constructed.  Just preferred 1st on the day but I am sure they will change places. If there
had been a Reserve Best Puppy number 2 would have got it.

Junior Bitch  (3) 
1st Granger's Shirdees Harlow Jean Of Shadybower.
  17 month, well balanced youngster.
Good feminine head, well set on ears and good bite.  Pleasing expression, shown in good 
condition. Flowing neck leading to well placed shoulders and good front construction.  Good
depth and spring of rib and good forechest. Level topline, firm rear and good rear angulation.
Tight feet and good bone.  Moved steadily and handled well.  Reserve Bitch CC.
2nd Vaychkus & Vaickus' Blue Aira Bernenski Ranczo (Imp Pl). Lovely shape with good
angulation. Good bone.  Just needs to tighten up a little.
3rd Wells' Bernfold Pawpatrol Chase.

Yearling Dog  (6, 1)

2nd  Bird's Kernow Let it Be At Cullumbern JW.
  Good head, nice expression, good ear set
and bite.  Good length of neck, well laid shoulders placement and good rear angulation.  Good
depth and spring of rib.  Short loin, good tail set.  Moved out well. 
3rd  Widdicombe's  Jesterbrock Secret Affair At Dumara.

Beginners Bitch  (2)

Good head and bite.  Neat shoulders and good
front.  Level topline.  Sound rear.  Good depth and spring of rib. Well balanced.  Enough bone.

set on ears.  Good reach of neck, good lay of shoulder and good front. Good depth of chest. Nice
depth and spring of rib.  Body well made all through.  Good front and rear movement. 
2nd Green's Waldershelf Loulou My Love.  Another well balanced bitch with good head,
shoulders and rear angulation.  Good depth and spring of rib. Good bone. Neat feet. Moves out
both ways with purpose.
3rd Flannagan's Collansues Mountain Angel.

Pleasing head with good bite. Neat ears, dark tan.
Well bodied with nice reach of neck.  Lovely front construction, good  depth and spring of rib,
short loin, strong rear quarters.  Sound all through.  Moved out well. 
2nd Gorbould's Bernerhof Precious Phoebe.  Another well balanced bitch with good head. 
Good reach of neck, good lay of shoulders and good front.  Nice depth and spring of rib. Body
well made all through.

Lovely head with good dentition, pleasing expression using her ears well.  Flowing neck leading

Strong loin, good croup and well set on tail.  Good rear angulation and muscle tone, In good coat
with dark tan.  Lovely free movement reaching out well at front and driving well from the rear
keeping a lovely topline while on the move.  Pleased to award her Bitch CC.

Good head.  Well made front and rear. Good depth and spring of rib. Firm rear.  Of good type. 
Moved with ease striding out well.
