Bernese News 16th June 2015

A very enjoyable day spent with the Bernese people at Maidstone.  Unfortunately this was
meant to be Stuart Mallard’s day and he had drawn an excellent entry but he withdrew for
health reasons. understand he is progressing nicely now.

My thanks to the Officers and Committee for their invitation, hospitality and gift and my stewards,
Ellen and Angela for making my task easier.

A point of concern were a number of exhibits who did not wish to stand for examination, some
lacking confidence or not wishing to be in the ring or is there a more obscure reason?

Another was the number of light eyes in bitches whilst dogs were invariably darker.

Veteran Dog (3 entries, 1 absentee)
1st Miles' Ch Jaybiem Utwo
. A good start to the day this active 7 year old didn't have to read
the gait clause of the standard, it just came naturally. Strength, substance, a balanced head,
flat skull, lovely eye;  Liked his body and driving quarters with his balanced gait he went on to
win the Reserve CC, Best Veteran in Show, Reserve Best in Show and he is the sire of the
Best in Show.
