BLACKPOOL CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 2015 28th June 2015
I would like to thank the committee of Blackpool Championship dog show for inviting me to
judge my beautiful breed and for their super hospitality. I would also like to thank all my
exhibitors for their support and for giving me the opportunity to judge their dogs.
I was spoilt for choice in most of the classes and I had to make a few very hard decisions
but I was more than pleased with my class winners and their runners up and can say I had
some quality dogs and bitches to go over.
A few points we need to address are narrow backskulls and forefaces, correct length of
leg/body ratio and the front and back movements. Some exhibits coming towards were
out at elbow and some on their back movement were crossing over or crabbing, unfortunately
this seemed to become more apparent the more they moved. Also lack of reach of neck in
some exhibits and a few were lacking the confidence which these dogs should have. However,
on the whole I felt the reach and drive of these fine working dogs were very good especially
especially on my ticket winners and temperaments on the whole were excellent. Thank you
again for bringing them.

MInor Puppy Dog (2 entries)
1st Instone & Clegram's Staubach Odysseus. Just six months a lot to like about this
youngster. Of good breed type, had a strong masculine head with correct ear set, dark eye and
broad muzzle. Lovely make and shape and moved out well .
2nd Wakeland's Shirdees Joe Dimaggio At Bramikdel. Very outgoing young man who at
this very tender age was enjoying himself. Slightly finer in head and muzzle but at only six months
has plenty of time to catch up. Good bone and feet and well angulated throughout. Another
Puppy Dog (4)
1st Dickson's Monalou Vino Verde at Geruth. Confident 9 month old who oozed breed type.
Sturdy puppy with correct head shape and markings. Broad chest straight well boned front legs
with tight cat-like feet. Short coupled with correct angulation all through moved out well and will
watch his progress with interest. Best Puppy Dog and Best Puppy in Breed.
2nd Atkinson & Reynolds' Meadowpark Secret Blend. Another lovely puppy who had a strong
head and muzzle. Good angulation fore and aft but felt he was a tad apprehensive which wasn't
helped by the wet and windy conditions.
3rd Bridges' Kernow Something.
Junior Dog (5 entries, 3 absentees)
1st Mile's Orlando Bloom At Jaybiem JW, who sadly left his coat behind today. Another lovely
youngster of good breed type well boned and angulated throughout which showed in his movement.
Good head with correct ear set and the darkest of eyes. When in full Orlando Bloom he will paint
paint a different picture.
2nd Green's Waldershelf Here Comes Erik. Not the heaviest but well put together and had a
strong masculine head body will come with maturity but have to say he was very attentive to his
handler who gets the best out of him. Moved well.
Post Graduate Dog (9, 2)
1st Baldwin's Guiness Record From Christofland To Fortonpark (Imp Czec). Wow! This dog
paints a superb picture on the stand and on the move. Most handsome upstanding male of only 20
months he oozes breed type with substantial bone a masculine head with the darkest of eye,
correct facial markings. Good reach of neck going into well laid shoulders broad chest and level
top line Good bend of stifle which he used to propel himself so easily around the ring. At such a
young age he has still to drop into himself but like any good wine he can only get better with age.
I am sure he will not take long to gain his crown. Shortlisted in the Group. Dog CC and Best of
2nd Dickson's Monalou Maserati At Geruth. Another fine example of the breed who was unlucky
to meet the winner today. Strong masculine head correct facial markings well angulated
throughout which showed in his movement not quite as imposing as my Dog CC but considered him
for the Reserve Dog CC. I am sure his day will come.
3rd Johnson's Monalou It's Baloo.
Limit Dog (7, 1)
1st King & Bramble's Shirdees Continental JW ShCM. I have always liked this dog and
I gave him a Junior class when I last judged. I did consider him for the Dog CC but he let himself
down in the challenge with his back movement but there is so much to like about him . Of good
breed type he has a strong masculine head with dark eyes and soft Bernese expression.
Workmanlike male of three years who is correctly angulated throughout. Handled to perfection
by his sporting owner.
2nd Baldwin's Tjofselinas Z Daimuz At Fortonpark JW (Imp Swe). Another super type of dog
from this kennel and pressed hard to win the class. He tends to move a little wide in front. He
has the loveliest of heads with kind expression I gave him Best Puppy Dog a couple of years
ago and am pleased he has "trained" on.
3rd Griffiths, Orme & Miles' Jaybiem Y'euben Chozen JW
Open Dog (7, 3)
1st Bridges Ch. Kernow Rock Star. I was spoilt for choice in this class four beautiful dogs and I
was splitting hairs on all four. My winner was a Well boned compact sturdy male who oozed
breed type. Strong masculine head with correct facial markings and lovely dark eye giving a kind
expression. Moved out well for his owner and quite understand why he is a Champion. Reserve
2nd Mair Hartley-Mair & Dybdall's Ch Meadowpark Vertigo JW. Such a lovely young dog who
I have admired throughout the past few months and he didn't disappoint when I went over him.
Just felt he had started to lose his jacket which made him look a little immature against the big boys.
3rd Granger's Jaybiem I Try For Shadybower JW.
Photo courtesy Trish Goodyear. Dog CC, Reserve Dog CC and Best Puppy winners.
Minor Puppy Bitch (5, 3)
1st Granger's Shirdees Harlow Jean Of Shadybower. I liked this young bitch puppy very much
such a pretty girl with an outgoing personality. Well angulated throughout which she used to
advantage on the move. Her sporting owner handles and presents her to perfection. Best Puppy
2nd Jeffries' Esslinbern Binda HIp Hop. Another lovely girl who needs to develop in head to
match her body at the moment but this will come I am sure. Moved out well and was very
attentive to her owner/handler.
Puppy Bitch (5)
1st Mair & Hartley- Mair's Meadowpark Special Blend. Aptly named this young lady who was
presented in excellent condition. Feminine head with correct ear set and scissor bite. Slightly light
in the eye but felt she was well made and she moved with good reach and drive.
2nd Johnson's Monalou Bay Breeze. Typey puppy with strong feminine head lovely bone and
substance. Not as well angulated as my winner which showed in her movement.
3rd Bridges' Kernow All My Loving.
Junior Bitch (8, 2)
1st Baldwin's Meadowpark Living My Dream At Fortonpark. This kennel has some lovely dogs
and bitches and another youngster who will be gaining top honours sooner rather than later. At
only 18 months looked more mature than most such lovely breed type strong feminine head with
a melting expression. Well angulated throughout and moved with ease around the ring .
2nd Tomkins' Meadowpark Hopes And Dreams. Litter sister to my class winner also looked quite
mature for her age. Strong bone, good reach of neck as her sister does and well made all through.
Just lost her action once on the move but then was as smooth as silk and forgave her that little
3rd Mair, Hartley Mair & Dybdall's Meadowpark Just A Dream.
Post Graduate Bitch (7)
Photo courtesy Andrew Brace. Bitch CC winner.
1st Mair, Hartley Mair & Dybdall's Meadowpark Breezing On. My notes read stunning bitch
of 19 months. Such a lovely strong feminine head with an appealing expression and lovely
dark eye. Correct scissor bite and ear set. Strong bone, broad, straight front and a well
developed body. Good reach of neck which some exhibits lacked kept her topline on the move.
Well angulated throughout to allow her the reach and drive required in the breed. Bitch CC.
Learnt later this was her second CC and her mother was top winning bitch who I had given a
ticket to last time I judged. Following in mummy's footsteps perhaps.
2nd Edis and Boot's Fairy Court Sparkles Of Kaycibern. Couldn't compete with my winner
but lots to like about this young lady and brought her back in for consideration of the Reserve
Bitch CC. Well put together and deserved her place.
3rd Edge's Monalou Maid To Measure.
Limit Bitch (8, 3)
1st King & Bramble's Shirdees Chevrolet. Litter sister to my limit dog. Lovely breed type with
feminine head and expression. Looked a picture on the stand but in the challenge stood rather
'bum high" and on the move she was close behind going away. However, she is a lovely girl,
well angulated throughout with a compact, well-muscled body.
2nd McCormick's Monalou Arctic Queen. Another lovely bitch from this kennel. Strong but
feminine head, rich tan and correct facial markings. Compact body, well-muscled and in full
bloom. Moved well.
3rd Edge's Monalou Iced Queen.
Open Bitch (6, 1)
Photo courtesy Leena Pawklyszyn. Reserve Bitch CC winner
1st Pawlyszyn's Ch Materabern Disco Diva. An old fashioned type of five years and a
worthy Champion. Strong but feminine head, correct scissor bite. Would have preferred a
darker eye. Compact well angulated body which was groomed to perfection. strode out well
around the ring. Reserve Bitch CC. Considered her for the Bitch CC but felt she was out-
manoevered by the youngster.
2nd Green's Waldershelf Happy Hattie. At seven plus years this lady could show most how
to move. Not as strong in head as 1st but bodywise was very similar.
3rd Baldwin's Ch Fortonpark Dutch Delight. I was splitting hairs in this class. A lovely
bitch which I have admired but felt she didn't have the reach in her front movement as my
