On Tuesday of this week I received a marked catalogue for the Central BMD Club Open Show
(Thank you Janet Riseborough) and Janet who is the show secretary/show manager emailed this
message and sent the five photos used below in the judge's critique;

"We had a fantastic show on May 24th.there were 79 Bernese Mountain Dogs, 25 Midland Carters
and 55 Variety Breeds for the Companion Show. The weather stayed good all day and the judge
Mr J.Smith from Tipton enjoyed his day. He had never seen the Midland Carters doing their
display before."

Many thanks to the committee for inviting me, it was a lovely day with a good entry, quality
exhibits and sportsmanlike exhibitors.  What more could you ask for?
I particularly liked watching the carting parade.

Minor Puppy Dog (1)
1st Walton's Enchambray Waterloo. 8 month old youngster.  Liked his size and bone, a little
bum high at this stage and needs to strengthen in pasterns but a pleasing type who needs time.

Puppy Dog (3 entries, 1 absentee)
1st Green's Bernsego Jack Vorobey At Pasturegreen.
11 months old.  Balanced head with dark
eye and correct bite, strong neck and reasonable front angles.  Very good bone and substance,                       looked good in profile.  Good pasterns and feet. Best Puppy Dog.
2nd Weatherer's Graburlynn Snap Dragon With Itsuitzuz. 9 months.  Typy head with dark eye.                   Looked slightly long cast than winner and pasterns need to strengthen.  Well angulated rear.

Junior Dog (4, 1)
1st Hughes' Waldershelf Causing Kaos.
13 months, who presented a typical outline standing.
Masculine with balanced headpiece and correct ears et and eye shape.  Bodying up well with                           good depth of brisket and nicely ribbed.  Well proportioned throughout with correct croup and
tail set.
2nd Hexter's Pasturegreen Russian Kiss. 13 months and slightly smaller so not quite the bone
or substance.  Beautiful feet and sound rear.

6 months old and what a charmer, soft
and puppyish and playing up on the move and I loved her; such an outgoing personality.  Nicely
constructed all through. Feminine head, dark eye, lovely expression. At this stage she has super
bone and substance. Looked great standing presenting such a typical outline.  My Best Puppy
Bitch and Best Puppy In Show.

on good legs and feet.  Prety head, correctly marked, dark eye.  Held her topline on the move.
Liked her croup and tailset.
2nd Green's Millenium Star J,adore Dior At Pasturegreen. 11 months.  Body wise she is quite
pleasing, her head at this stage is a little plain and will develop further.  Confident mover with

2nd Dewick's Alisnobern Rainbow Dawn.  Liked her size and overall breed typw.  Dark eye and
good mouth.  Needs to tighten up in front and a little slack in pastern.  Could not match the winner
movement wise.

Yearling Bitch (2, 1)
1st Edis & Boot's Fairy Court Sparkles Of Kaycibern.
Lots to like about this 20 month old.
Quite a strong head but balanced with dark eye and good dentition.  Nicely proportioned, strong
neck and decent layback of shoulder. Strong body and sound rear.

Post Graduate Bitch (8, 5)
1st Edis & Boot's Fairy Court Sparkles Of Kaycibern.
2nd Hexter's Pasturegreen Irish Beauty.

the move.
3rd Handley's Graburlynn Parisienne.

Limit Bitch (11, 4)
1st Green's Fortonpark Millie My Love At Pasturegreen.
6 years old, a showing clown.  Superb
temperament, she never stopped showing for one minute.  Full of Bernese type, loved her size and
balance. Super feminine head with dark eye and strong muzzle.  Clean front.  On the stack she is
so exuberant she lifts her tail too high but her tail set and croup are good.  She has good angles
front and rear allowing her an easy, fluid gait. Best Bitch and Reserve Best In Show.
2nd King & Bramble's Shirdees Chevrolet. Another quality 3 year old who impressed.  Classic
outline on this bitch. Very good head and expression.  Excellent bone and feet.  Well made body,
well ribbed with strong loin, excellent upper thigh, nice muscle tone and one of the few who moved
with drive. Reserve Best Bitch.
3rd Flippance's Bernbiename Bright Button At Nenebern.

Open Bitch  (3, 1)
1st Granger's Monalou Peggy Sue At Shadybower.
6 year old, carried a pleasing head with
lovely expression. Strong neck, decent layback and upper arm.  Strong body, correct rib and loin.
Excellent bone and feet. Moved well.
2nd Mead's Monalou Good Day Sunshine. Another 6 year old, very similar to winner but
somewhat plainer in head and needing a little more stop but nicely bodied with good legs and
feet. Sound on the move. Shown in great condition.

Veteran Bitch (5, 4)
1st King & Bramble's Ch Shirdees Bobbie Dazzler.
9 years old and at last one who really moves.
Quite a big bitch but so well put together which shows when she moves;  excellent forward reach
and follows through with sound rear drive. Her slightly greying muzzle only adds to her superb
feminine expression. One who really impressed.
2nd Harris' Velbern Geisha Girl. 8 year old who still looks good in stance. Pleasing head and
neck.  Liked her front assembly, lacking a little rear muscle tone but still quality.
Both veteran bitches are a credit to the breed.
