THREE COUNTIES CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 10th June 2016
Thank you for the lovely entry on my first occasion awarding CCs in the breed. Having done
my homework I was very much aware of the words of wisdom in the Standard.
My main observation of the breed on show today was that many were not "compact rather
than long" and mostly lacking "rump smoothly rounded" as well.
There were many very attractive heads with decent stops and tight eyes enhanced good
markings. Generally substance was very good with straight forelimbs and firm elbows
although a few were weak at pastern allowing feet to turn out when asked to stop naturally.
Ribcages were pretty good extending well back although toplines varied considerably. Not
too many exaggerated gay tails. Action generally sound, not always as parallel as they might
be but fortunately only a few displaying heavy, lumbering movement.
Overall I found the breed in a good state and hope breeders will endeavour to try to get back
to the desired overall shape which is so distinctive of this lovely breed.

with his compact frame and presents a balanced outline with well marked, masculine head

the stops to put on a good performance clinching not only the class but the CC, his second I
