The first day of Crufts saw Bernese in the big ring with the Breeders Group competition final
resulting in Meadowpark winning Group 4 out of 55. The judge was Steve Hall.

At Crufts on Friday our judge was breed specialist Amanda Hearne (Snoanda) who had an
early start and a full day of judging ahead of her having drawn 103 dogs giving 115 entries with 16
absentees plus 103 bitches giving 118 entries with 25 absentees.
As is usual the ringside was surrounded by spectators enthusiastically watching the proceedings.

Winning his 2nd CC plus Best of Breed was Bernice Mair, Carole Hartley-Mair & Gary Dybdall's
homebred Meadowpark Vertigo JW. A few days short of 18 months, this youngster was  the top
winning puppy in the whole of the Working Group for 2014 and has already notched up
4 Reserve CCs too.  A son of Ch Jaybiem Utwo JW ShCM he is out of Meadowpark Sugar's Diva.

The Reserve Dog CC was awarded to Julie Baldwin's Swedish import Tjofselina Z Diamuz At
Fortonpark JW bred by Lotta Schander.  He is almost 2 1/2 and sired by Maroussia Zhante
Zhivago x Kronblommas Jolanta.  His daughter, also owned by Julie and bred by Bernice and
Carole took home the Reserve Bitch ticket too.  Meadowpark Living My Dream At Fortonpark
is 15 months old and out of Ch Meadowpark Living The Dream.

The Bitch CC, her 17th, and the second year running she has taken the Crufts ticket was
Penny Cooke & Jim Stevens' Ch Tickbern Miss Chief.  Homebred, she is sired by Sitzendorf
Sirs Apprentice At Tickbern x Clashaidy Memphis Belle. The ticket winners
proved to be a very popular  with resounding applause at ringside as both battled it out in the
Best of Breed challenge.

Best Puppy was won by Steve, Jeannette & Emily Green's homebred Waldershelf Here Comes
Erik who is 11months old and sired by Bernerdalens Jackpot x Meadowpark That's Royal At
Waldershelf.

After the breed judging Vertigo (George) was shortlisted in the Working Group judged by Bob
Gregory.  TV coverage screened later that evening gave us a good view of Gary and George in
the Big ring and they gave a very good account of themselves and a good representation for our
breed.

Elsewhere at the show young Paige Spencer handling Archie (Bohenium Rapture At Padiky)
won the Young Kennel Club Handling Working & Pastoral 6 to 11 years age group.
What an accomplished young handler Paige has proven herself to be and an inspiration to
other youngsters to follow suit.
Congratulations to you all.
