"We had a lovely day at the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Scotland Open Show on 12th
February where Deaglan (Bernemcourt Liv'n On A Prayer) was awarded Best In Show.

"Many thanks to our judge Mrs Loraine Ratter. This has been a good show for Deaglan
as he won Best Puppy in Show in 2015 and Best in Show in 2016."

George Wilson, Chairman of the BMD Club of Scotland emailed;
"As part of club's 30th Anniversary year we have in production a Hi-Tec, full sized Rucksack/
Backpack with a beautifully embroidered club Logo.

"It measures approximately 18 inches high, 14 inches wide and 8 inches deep (front to back).
This will be a gift for our club members (one per household). These beautiful rucksacks will be
ready and available at our Kelso Championship Show and Fun weekend on 5th and 6th
August 2017. We will provide details nearer the time for those members not able to collect.
This is just one of the exciting specials planned for our members on this 30th Anniversary year.
Other specials are reduced show entry fees, special place gifts, free entry to our Fun Day Events
etc., etc.

BMD CLUB OF SCOTLAND OPEN SHOW 12th February 2017
Thanks you to the committee and exhibitors for a most enjoyable day judging one of my
favourite breeds. The show was extremely well organised with a lively, friendly atmosphere,
marvellous raffle and club stall positively groaning with club merchandise.
Veteran Dog (2 entries)
Both these dogs are a credit to the owners
1st & Best Veteran Dog Scott's Welshbern Trafys Of Scobern ShCM. A fit and well
conditioned male of excellent breed type. Desired size and substance. Well marked, typical
head, masculine with correct expression. Sound mover, firm topline
2nd Dickson's Ch Monalou Dutch Connexion To Geruth. A male of lovely quality, he was
presented in excellent condition, well muscled throughout. He excels in head and expression.
Balanced angulation, correct outline retained on the move.

Puppy Dog (2)
1st, Best Puppy Dog & Best Puppy in Show Addison's Monalou Bollinger. A very typical,
well grown youngster. His head is developing as you would expect, his movement was sound.
Well presented today, on the move tending to roach his topline.
2nd Watson's Monalou Just Monty (TAF). Well constructed with good bone, lovely feet and
general substance. Moved steadily.
Junior Dog (2 entries, 1 absentee)
1st Smith's Piper Van’t Stokerybos (Imp Bel). Youngster of good size with adequate substance.
His head is maturing well, gentle expression, almond shaped dark eyes, scissor bite. Compact
body. Active sound mover with super markings. Silky coat which was well presented

1st King's Elnside The Grandmaster. Immediately catches your eye with his classic outline.
A fit and active dog of super breed type. Good angulation fore and aft, compact body, strong well
muscled loin. Typical head with gentle expression. Well presented coat and handled empathically

1st Dickson's Monalou Vino Verdi At Geruth. Super young dog, so well balanced, he has
type, strength and is well angulated. His body is compact and well developed. Strong, level
topline, well muscled loin. Excellent tail carriage. Fit and is sound and active on the move
2nd Scobie's Monalou Northern Knight. Ideal size, extremely masculine with strongly
developed bone. Compact body, well angulated rear. Today he was not moving well in front.
Super coat texture and condition.
Limit Dog (6, 4)
1st, Best Dog & Best in Show Hastings' Bernemcourt Liv’n On A Prayer. A striking young
male full of promise. Balanced outline, strong and sturdy with the correct amount of substance.
Typical head and gentle expression from almond shaped eyes, scissor bite. Well angulated
shoulder and hindquarters which were well muscled allowing him to move with drive and power
around the ring. Beautifully presented coat and handled to advantage
2nd Blincow's Torralbaz Lord Of The Manor. Mature and masculine with excellent markings.
Strongly built. I would prefer a slightly better lay of shoulder but he is balanced fore and rear
with a good topline and tailset. Moved soundly. Super coat and very well conditioned
3rd MacLeod's Ttorralbbaz Lord Of The Isles.
Open Dog (3, 2)
1st, Reserve Best Dog & Reserve Best in Show King's Elnside Going The Distance. An
obvious active and outgoing mature dog with super bone and feet. His personality shone
through in his expression. Correct shoulder angulation, he moved soundly. In super
coat and condition. Well handled to get the best from him.
2nd Scott's Welshbern One Vision At Scobern ShCM. Excelling in size and bone. Masculine
head.Slightly shorter in neck than ideal. Compact body, well muscled and angulated rear.
Well marked coat of correct texture
Veteran Bitch (3, 1)
1st & Best Veteran in Show McAllister's Tiggerifix Hunny Bee. A super fit and sprightly
nine year old she has retained her femininity and super expression. Today she out-moved
many younger exhibits. Balanced outline with a firmly held topline. A credit to her owners.
Minor Puppy Bitch (1)
1st Best Puppy Bitch & Reserve Best Puppy in Show McPherson's Doodles Painted Lady.
Eight months, strong breed type, good markings. Feminine head which is developing as you
would expect at this stage, dark eye, scissor bite. Correct bone, well angulated shoulder.
Typical outline, good tail set. Moving a little closely behind today.

2nd Jeffries' Esslinbern Eternal Joy. At the tall and rangy stage. She has a pleasing head
and expression, dark eye, scissor bite. On the move she retained a good outline and topline

confidence. Typical head, good stop, correct expression. Compact, well developed body. Strong

1st & Reserve Best Bitch Kelly's Riden Hennet Rosetta Stone At Belhof (Imp Est). An eye
catching young female. Super type with a most attractive profile, she is starting to mature in
head which is very feminine with a dark eye. Correct dentition. Broad chest, correct ribs, strong,
level topline. Good bone and well shaped feet. Well conditioned and handled empathically.
Post Graduate Bitch (3, 2)
1st, Best Bitch & Best Opposite Sex Davidson's Meadowpark Pure Breeze. Immediately
grabs your attention on entering the ring. Strong, sturdy with super bone and just the correct
amount of substance. Obvious a big personality, very confident, alert and responsive to her
handler. Sound movement and outline in profile won her Best Bitch. She was beautifully
presented, well muscled.
2nd McCormick's Monalou Star Princess. Attractive markings ideal size with good bone
and feet. Well developed body. Today she was losing her topline on the move. Correct coat
which was well presented.
Limit Bitch (2)
1st Davidson's Meadowpark Pure Breeze.
2nd Jeffries' Lara At Esslinbern. Mature bitch, ideal size, super markings. Feminine head, good
stop, dark almond shaped eyes. Typical outline. Fairly well angulated fore and rear. Obviously
good natured and friendly. Well conditioned coat and condition.
Open Bitch (2)
1st McCormick's Monalou Artic Queen. This bitch has what I consider the text book head and
expression for the breed type in abundance. Ideal bone and substance. Super neck and shoulder.
Well ribbed, level topline. Correct tail set. Sound mover in excellent coat and condition.
2nd Davidson's Meadowpark Whispers Shadow. A taller bitch, a bit finer all through. Well
developed body, she was presented in good coat. Has super markings and muscle tone. Well
handled

Veteran Dog (7 entries, 1 absentee)
1st Wakeland's Ch Collansues Buildin Bridges At Bramikdel. Strong, masculine head with
dark eye. Well-marked with good bone and substance, well angulated behind and moved well
with drive. In good coat.
2nd Turner's Ch Tangyachates Beachcomber. Another lovely masculine dog with strong head,
dark eye, lovely markings. Level topline, longer cast than 1st, moved well.
3rd Dickson's Ch Monalou Dutch Connexion To Geruth. Medium sized male with dark markings.
Overall well put together with good angulation front and rear. Shown in lovely condition.
Minor Puppy Dog (2)
1st Titchmarsh's Waldershelf Dandy Lion. Well marked with good head. Liked the overall
outline, carrying his tail high on the move.
2nd Rodrigues, Pugsley & Green's Waldershelf Jaspa's Thor. Preferred head of 1st, well
marked. Good angulation, needs more ring training.
Puppy Dog (9)
1st Miles' Jaybiem Stan Innovation. Lovely puppy with good head with nice dark eye. Well
balanced dog with good angulation, moved well. Best Puppy Dog.
2nd Johnson's Monalou Dom Perignon. Good size pup with good head and straight front.
Good depth of chest, well angulated behind, moved OK.
3rd Griffiths, Orme & Miles' Jaybiem With N'Without Y'Zeus. Another nice pup, medium
size. Good head and dark almond shaped eyes. Well angulated and good tail carriage.
Junior Dog (4)
1st Ovchinnikova's Major De Neboa De Meigas Rus/Belj Ch. Pleasing head and nice
eye. Well constructed dog giving lovely outline with straight front and good angulation front
and back. Nice tail carriage, moved well.
2nd Akehurst's Jesterbrock Alpine Storm. Good head with nice eyes. Taller dog, out of
coat.
3rd Watson's Jesterbrock Alpine Glory At Stepdashar. Pleasing head with dark eyes.
Smaller dog lighter in bone. Moved OK but carrying tail high.
Yearling Dog (16, 2)
1st Delrue-Vandewalle's Kronblommas Yam Yam. A strong, impressive dog with good bone
and substance. Straight front, level topline. Nice tail carriage and moved well
2nd Baldwin's Meadowpark First Class For Fortonpark. Smaller dog than 1st with good
masculine head, well balanced, good angulation. Moved well with drive.
3rd Sozzi's Dammi Un Dado Del Sacro Fiume. Nice head, darker markings. Straight front and
good outline.
Post Graduate Dog (24, 3)
1st Hughes' Waldershelf Causing Kaos. Pleasing head. A well balance dog with good outline
and excellent topline which he keeps on the move.
2nd Gurney's Monalou Just Call Me Oleg. Good head with dark eyes giving pleasing
expression. Plenty bone and substance, straight front, balanced outline. Just didn't move as well
as 1st.
3rd Grimes' Stormberne Let It Snow. Larger male with masculine head. Good depth of chest
and strong bone. Pleasing outline and good tail carriage. Movement could have been better.
Mid Limit Dog (14, 2)
1st Wolde's Devael Loud 'N Proud VDW NLY/VDH/ SSV Y CH. Loved his masculine head and
lovely eyes. Well-constructed dog with excellent topline and good tail carriage. Good coat and
moved very well.
2nd Gurney's Monalou Russian Ambassador. Another lovely dog with good masculine head
and dark eyes. Balance outline with good angulation front and back. Moved well
3rd Miles & Sampson's Jaybiem Mi Lord. Strong, masculine head with pleasing expression.
Good bone and substance, well angulated behind.
Limit Dog (13, 2)
1st Wolde's - Devael Loud 'N Proud VDW NLY/VDH/SSV Y CH.
2nd Delrue-Vandewalle's Miel Van't Stokerybos. Lovely dark faced dog. Good straight front,
level topline, good bone and lovely balanced outline. Just preferred movement of 1st.
3rd Bird & Bridges' Kernow Something. Another lovely dark faced dog with dark eyes.
Compact dog with pleasing outline, in good coat.
Open Dog (23, 5)
1st Wolde's NL/ VDH/ SS V/LUX-/CRO/INT CH Georgeous McGregor Vom Rummelsbach.
Striking dog with lovely masculine head and beautiful dark eyes. Excellent bone and substance
with good depth, lovely outline on the stance, well angulated behind. Correct tail carriage. Moved
with drive, shown in lovely condition. Pleased to award him Dog CC.
2nd Mair, Hartley-Mair & DybDall's Ch Meadowpark High Class. Another beautiful dog again
with excellent bone and substance. Beautiful outline, correct tail carriage, moved well. Very
little between these dogs, just preferred head and eye colour of 1st but delighted to award him
Reserve CC.
3rd Mair, Hartley-Mair & Dybdall's Ch Meadowpark Vertigo JW. Again another beautiful dog
with very little to separate them, he had all the same qualities of the other two dogs. Again it was
down to eye shape and colour.
Good Citizen Dog (6, 2)
1st Stelmach & Davis' Chippis Knights Image. Good overall body shape. Clear markings and
dark eyes. In good coat, moved best in class.
2nd Marsden & Robertson's Trudaleaze Aint I Adorable. Longer in face. Good depth of chest.
Good tail set, moved OK.
3rd Brennand's Malindi Beach Of Bonningate. Pleasing head with dark eye. Finer in bone.
Moved wide in front.
Veteran Bitch (11, 2)
1st Cooke & Stevens' Ch Tickbern Never Say Never. Very pretty bitch with lovely dark eyes
giving kind expression. Well-constructed with pleasing outline. Coat in lovely condition. Moved
well. Reserve CC.
2nd Rothery's Glamrock Future Legend. Finer bitch than 1st, lovely feminine head, good
proportions. Moved well. Lacking coat.
3rd Edge's Monalou Dutch Affair JW. Strong bitch, good depth of body. In good coat and
condition, movement today let her down.
Minor Puppy Bitch (1)
1st Benson's Bernervalley Summer Dream. Well bodied youngster for her age. Lovely
markings. Good angulation, in good coat. Bum high at the moment and carrying her tail high.
Moved OK.
Puppy Bitch (6)
1st Miles' Jaybiem My My My. Lovely pup with feminine head. Good body proportions giving
pleasing outline. Lots to like about her, moved well. Delighted to give her Best Puppy.
2nd Pawlyszyn's Matera's Record Label. This was a very close decision between 1st and
2nd. Another lovely puppy with pleasing head, has well balanced outline and good tail carriage.
Just preferred movement in 1st.
3rd King & Bramble's Shirdees Miss Congeniality. Nice feminine head. Good outline and
level topline, good angulation.
Junior Bitch (22, 7)
1st Jones' Tremwyddfa Forget Me Not. Dark faced bitch with lovely dark eyes. Pleasing
outline and level topline. Nice tight feet, good angulation, moved well.
2nd Crahay's Lord Of Berners Orkaan. Slightly smaller than 1st. Good front, well angulated.
Good depth of body.
3rd Sutton & Davenport-Willis' Perfectproposal From Orsina's Land. Strong but pleasing
head. Good front, level topline and overall well balanced
Yearling Bitch (15, 3)
1st Jones' Lujento Gloria Swan Song With Welshbern. Bitch of good substance with
pleasing outline, good depth of body, slightly short in tail. Won class on movement.
2nd Crahay's Lord Of Berners Orkaan.
3rd Baldwin's Fortonpark Lilly's Delight. Pleasing head and lovely dark eyes. Good front.
Shown in lovely condition.
Post Graduate Bitch (12, 3)
1st Bridges' Kernow All My Loving. Good head with lovely dark eyes. Dark tan. Pleasing
outline with excellent depth of body and well angulated and good tail carriage. Moved best
in class.
2nd Mutter's Barinkar Everlasting Love. Finer bitch than 1st, overall nice body shape. Lovely
feminine head with good expression.
3rd Hyland's Bernfold Celeb Laila Mo At Charmsway. Well marked, medium sized bitch with
good depth of body. Good topline.
Mid Limit Bitch (15 ,2)
1st Miles' Save Dallas Kiss For Jaybiem. Lovely head shape and well shaped dark eyes.
Good proportions giving balanced outline. Won on her movement.
2nd Mair & Hartley-Mair's Meadowpark Special Blend. Pleasing head. Good topline and depth
of body, moved well
3rd Bird's Kernow Let It Be At Cullumbern JW. Well shaped bitch with good bone. Straight
front, plenty depth of chest. Would have liked more tail.
Limit Bitch (8, 2)
1st Bridges' Kernow Hello Old Friend. Pretty bitch with good bone. Nice outline, good rear
angulation, moved with drive.
2nd Griffiths, Slade & Orme's Jaybiem Vou Doo At Potterspride JW. Rich tan markings.
Pleasing outline with level topline, moved well
3rd Bailey & Williams' Carabaz Rubinas Sky At Timarabai. Medium size bitch. Good depth
of chest, would have like more hind angulation.
Open Bitch (26, 9)
1st Mair & Hartley-Mair's Ch Meadowpark Just A Dream. What an outstanding bitch, has
everything in the right place. A beautiful example of the breed, she stood out in this class. With
lovely head and expression, excellent body proportions, beautiful outline on the stance, tight
feet. Great tail carriage and moved with drive. Easy decision and delighted to award her
Bitch CC, Best of Breed.
2nd Gurney's Ch Monalou Fanny Craddock JW. Another lovely bitch. Strong but feminine
head, lovely dark markings. Good bone and substance, well-constructed with good proportions.
Shown in lovely condition, just didn't move as well as I would have liked.
3rd Sutton's Ch Bernsteph Dior Remember Me. Pleasing head with lovely dark eyes. Good
overall shape and outline, well angulated front and rear.
Good Citizen Bitch (8, 2)
1st Wood'sTamarbern Dusky Maiden. Pretty bitch, level topline and well angulated behind.
Good depth of body, lots of coat and won class on her movement.
2nd Thompson'sTrudaleaze She's Gorjus At Brierbern. Feminine bitch, good overall shape,
level topline. Just didn't move as well as 1st.
3rd Williams' Tickbern Oaklahoma In Tinland ShCM. Finer bitch, good depth of body. In good
coat.
