Many thanks to Janet Riseborough for sending me a marked catalogue of the Central BMD Club Open Show which was held on 20th May at the usual venue, Overseal Village Hall in Derbys.

The judge was all-rounder Caroline Friend-Rees (Amical). There were 71 entries with 26 absentees across 16 classes and the sun shone!

Best Bitch and Best in Show was awarded to Joanne and Trevor Sutton's homebred 5 year old Ch Bernsteph Dior Remember Me JW ShCM who is a daughter of Tickbern Over The Moon x Sennensson Nina Ricci At Bernsteph.

June Miles' 2 year old homebred Jaybiem Burli Shassi JW (Jaybiem Yeuben Chozen JW ShCM x Ch Meadowpark Sweetest Thing At Jaybiem) took Reserve Best Bitch. Jaybiem Stan Innovation JW who is bred by June and jointly owned with Sofia Ishaque won Reserve Best Dog. He is 2 years old,. sired by Ch Meadowpark Vertigo JW x Save Dallas Kiss For Jaybiem.

Karen Bird's Ch Kernow Something topped the males. Bred by Shandy Bridges, he is rising 4 ears old and sired by Ch Shirdees Love Me Do At Cullumbern JW ShCM x Kernow Uptou.

Best Puppy went to Stephenson's Bernark's Mount Snowden, a 7 month old bred by Yvonne Clough and sired by Kernow Something Perfect x Bernark's Now Or Never.

Roy Toms' homebred Emberfay Moonglow added another Best Veteran award to her tally. Rising 9 years old she is a daughter of the multi titled Ch Zanzebern Defender x Emberfay C'est Si Bon.

There was also a Special Award Champion Class which attracted 5 entries with 1 absentee and was judged by Pat Myers (Teddybern) and was won by Gary Griffiths, Mandy Orme and Violet Slade's jointly owned Ch Jaybiem Vou Doo At Potterspride JW. Congratulations.



Thunder and lightning accompanied by torrential rain
hit Bath Championship Show on Bernese day so it's a good job that dog folk are a tolerant and resilient bunch. No CCs were on offer this year but breed specialist judger Karen Bird (Cullumbern) had drawn 23 entries with 5 absentees across 12 classes.

Best Bitch and Best of Breed was won by June Miles homebred Jaybiem Burli Shassi JW (Jaybiem Y'euben Chozen JW ShCM x Ch Meadowpark Sweetest Thing At Jaybiwm) and Reserve Best Bitch went to Junes' homebred Jaybiem My My My (Ch Meadowpark Vertigo JW x Save Dallas Kiss For Jaybiem.)

Best Dog was awarded to James and Cathy Connelly's Shirdees Top Gun who was bred by Shirley King and Julie Bramble and sired by Ch Meadowpark High Class JW x Shirdees Chevrolet with the same owners' Carabaz New Blues who was bred by Bruce and Jean Hellingsworth and sired by Ch Glamrock Ballroom Blitz by Glenbrienz x Shirdees Fantasy At Carabaz winning Best Veteran.

The Reserve Best Dog award went to the Jane Ellis' Kernow Azir At Fitzford. He was bred by Shandy Bridges and is a son of Ch Kernow Rock Star x Polish import Layla Puchate Kreple At Kernow.

Best Puppy was Barnark's Mount Snowden (Kernow Something Perfect x Bernark's Now Or Never who is owned by the Stephensons and bred by Yvonne Clough. who won 3rd in the Working Special beginners Group with her homebred Bernark's Now Or Never under all-rounder judge Jean Lawless. Congratulations.
