DOG CLASSES - Judge Linda Stephenson (Durrbach)

I thank the BMD Club of GB Committee for their invitation to judge, the exhibitors for turning up
and the warm weather which appeared to be just right for the dogs.  I am grateful for the humour
and hard work of my Stewards Lianne and Mandy.
I was impressed by many of the dogs I judged, especially in the latter classes.  Temperaments
were good as were mouths. Most dogs appeared to be fit and not carrying too much weight
which can affect movement. Tail placement continues to occasionally spoil the whole picture
when on the move. Sadly, some dogs were between coats and did not always hold their own
against those who had theirs on the day. The Open class contained some excellent
representatives of the breed. The Veteran class was a delight to view, having some of the best
movers of the day.
It was a pleasure to meet my Dog CC and Best in Show winner, having last seen him as a 6
month old puppy. He has more than fulfilled the potential seen when he was young. The Reserve
Dog CC continues his winning ways, looking and moving so well that he was able to win this
despite being a veteran.
Minor Puppy Dog  (1 entry)
1st Fairclough's Monalou Spirit Of Discovery
.  6 months.  A  well marked masculine puppy
with  good bone for size. Straight forelegs. Movement was loose but expected for his age.
Puppy Dog  (4)
Both puppies were happy and extrovert and I expect they will reverse these placements on
another day.
1st Mair & Hartley- Mair's Meadowpark High Class. 9 months. Pleasing in outline with excellent
hindquarters and level topline which held on movement. Tight, round feet on correctly placed legs.
Good use of ears contributed to his expression. Gleaming, slightly wavy coat. Handled and moved
well.  Best Puppy Dog.
2nd Wakeland's Shirdees Joe Dimaggio At Bramikdel.
9 months. Not as mature as 1st.  Good
bone for size, masculine head which will improve even more with maturity.  Carrying an excellent
coat. Happy yet steady mover.
Special Junior Dog  (5)
1st Bridges' Kernow Something.
13 months. A promising young dog with good bone, straight
front legs and tight feet. Dark well placed eyes contribute to the benign, gentle expression.  Well
sprung ribs with level topline. Best mover in class with good tail carriage and top line.
2nd Dickson's Monalou Vino Verde At Geruth.  12 months. Smaller than 1st with excellent bone,
rich pigmentation. Head has deep stop and strong muzzle, eyes not as tight as the winner. Covered
the ground well during movement.
3rd Harrison & Ratcliffe's Monalou Axelmeister Of Alachard.
Junior Dog  (4)
1st Miles' Orlando Bloom At Jaybiem.
17 months.  Good angles front and back, strong in bone
with a good coat. Broad head with deep stop and dark almond shaped eyes.  Moved soundly with
drive, having the best tail carriage in class.
2nd Green's Bernsego Jack Vorobey At Pasturesgreen (Imp Rus).  15 months.  Well marked
with an attractive head. Not quite the bone of 1st. Well handled, moved well.
3rd Green's Waldershelf Here Comes Eric. 17 months.
Yearling Dog  (4)
1st Grimes' Stormberne Let It Snow.
22 months. Excellent bone, markings and the best of coats.
Masculine head which came at the end of a good reach of neck.  Level topline, correct front.  Alert
and easily settled to become the best mover in class.
2nd Hughes' Waldershelf Causing Kaos. 17 months. Taller and not as well made as 1st.  Darkest
of almond shaped eyes. Not in his full coat, happy dog who worked well with his handler.
3rd Aze's Nathesbern Blake.  18 months.
Graduate Dog  (2)
Two very different dogs.
1st Gopal's Collansues Secret Bridges.  2 years.  Well presented and handled which allowed his
his movement to be seen. Above medium sized with adequate bone for size.  Strong parallel hocks
used whilst moving, tail rather high, more hind angulation needed.
2nd Soame's Bernemcourt Don’t Look Back.  2 years.  Much smaller than 1st but well
proportioned with good bone for size. Well marked with a good coat. He did appear much smaller
when moving as he hardly raised his head from the ground or straightened his front legs making it
difficult to assess movement.
Post Graduate Dog (8)
1st Hyland's Charmsway Adventurer.
2 years.  Glamorous but masculine. Well marked with
good front and strong, shapely hindquarters and level topline. Body had well sprung ribs and depth.
Head had expressive eyes and his use of ears completed the picture. Handled and moved well.
2nd Johnson's Monalou It’s Balou.  2 years.  Less glamorous than 1st but lots to like.  Dark, rich
tan. Masculine broad head with strong muzzle. Excellent bone and coat.  Body had depth and
substance. Moved well once he got on track.
3rd Claridge's Bernemcourt Morning Glory.
Mid Limit Dog  (5 entries, 1 absentee)
1st Green's Alpenspirit Pure Pleasure For Arvella (Imp Can).
  2 years. Well proportioned with
good bone for size, traight forelegs. Well muscled hindquarters which were put to good use when
he  moved. Broad flat skull with strong muzzle, finished off with long straight coat.
2nd Baldwin's Guiness Record From Christofland To Fortonpark (Imp Cze).  23 months.
Strong in head with dark eyes, excellent bone and pigmentation. Showing good depth for his age.
Today he rolled on moving but I expect him to go onto greater things in the future.
3rd Round's Collansues Black Magic.
Limit Dog  (8)
1st Griffiths, Orme & Miles' Jaybiem Y’euben Chosen JW.
  3 years. Beautifully presented
handsome boy, well marked. Nicely proportioned dog with masculine head.  Level topline, good
depth of body and shapely hindquarters. Moved freely with tail a little high.
2nd Jefferson's Meadowpark Boysown.  6 years. Taller and shorter coupled than 1st with good
bone and well placed feet. Level topline, good  depth and spring of rib. Moved well with his handler.
3rd Scott's Welshbern One Vision At Scobern.  2 years.
Open Dog  (8)
A good class of dogs.
1st Bridges' Ch Kernow Rock Star.  3 years. He has shape, type, good front and rear angles,
deep chest topped off by a lovely head and expression. Well boned legs with tight, compact feet
Broad strong hindquarters and firm hocks allowed him to move with drive and ease.  I liked him at
6 months and loved him today. Dog CC and Best in Show (by referee decision.)
2nd Jones's Ch Lujento Heyhobart With Welshbern.  4 years.  Lots to like again, well deserved
his placement. Strong masculine head with flat skull and deep stop and broad muzzle.  Well sprung
ribs, deep chest, well muscled body and gleaming coat.  Level topline, tight feet and well muscled
hindquarters gave power when he moved.
3rd Mair, Hartley-Mair & Dybdall's Ch Meadowpark Vertigo.  2 years.
Veteran Dog  (7, 3)
1st Miles' Ch Jaybiem Utwo JW ShCM.
7 years. Ageless today. Above medium size dog who
excels in bone, depth and substance. Benign expression in a masculine head, good coat, markings
and feet. He moved well, showing others how it could be done. Reserve CC and Best Veteran.
2nd Aze's Fortonpark Its My Boy At Kernow ShCM.  9 years. Well presented in good coat. Good
bone, depth of body. Lacked the muscle and strength of hindquarters in 1st but moved well despite
his age.
3rd Fairclough's Ch Monalou What’s It All About ShCM.  7 years.
Judge - Linda Stephenson (Durrbach)

BITCH CLASSES - Judge Frank Kane (Hirontower)

It was a great pleasure and an honour to be invited to judge  bitches at the parent club
Championship show. There were plenty of high quality exhibits. Of course, Open Bitch was full of
quality but the Yearling class  delighted me and I am sure the top ones here will be making their
mark.  Puppies were difficult as many were at the various stages of development difficult as many
were at the various stages of development/ growth, a few were high in the rear and generally high
in the rear and generally very loose. I found some who were not steady or confident in
temperament, perhaps hormonal; that is something I have not met in the breed before and in a
couple of classes,  this affected my placings.
My co-judge, breed specialist Linda Stephenson and I agreed on all the final awards except Best
in Show where she supported her choice, the beautifully headed dog Ch Kernow Rock Star - who
incidentally sired one of my favourite bitches of the day in the Yearling class.  I stayed loyal to my
winning bitch Meadowpark Perfect Blend – a wonderful mover, so we amically deffered and called
for the referee, specialist Sandra Gatward, who awarded Best in Show to the dog, Ch Kernow
Rock Star.  Mrs Stephenson and I agreed that Reserve Best in Show should go to Meadowpark
Perfect Blend and Best Puppy in Show to the male Meadowpark High Class. Best Veteran went
to the dog, Ch Jaybiem Utwo.
Many thanks to the show secretary Karen Bird who had everything organised to the last detail and
to the committee and show team for their hospitality (and lovely cakes!!)  Special thanks to my
stewards Wendy and Michele Smee.
Minor Puppy Bitch  (4 entries)
1st Mair & Hartley-Mair's  Meadowpark Picture Perfect.
(Guiness Record From Christofland ex
Meadowpark Perfect Blend).  6 months, stood out here for conformation, balance andmovement.
Beautiful type all through with excellent head and eye.  Ears a touch large at the moment. Lovely
colours and markings. Best Puppy Bitch.
2nd Bridges'  Kernow Festival Days.  (Ch Kernow Rock Star ex Kernow Beautiful Days).  7
months, a little high in the rear at the moment and can develop in head but sound moving and
correct proportions and has a lot of promise.
3rd Pingel's  Lintock Memphis Belle.  (Graburlynn Kings Of Leon Via Lintock ex
Graburlynn Syrian Pearl With Lintock).
Puppy Bitch  (7 entries, 2 absentees)
1st Smith's  Esslinbern Bulgari Astrale At Camlais.
(Ch Tjofselina's Z Diamuz At Fortonpark
JW ex Windlenell Quita At Esslinbern).  Won this class on her balance and topline on the move.
Good head and eyes, correct markings, she is a little close in front and her rear action could be
cleaner, but she had a good pace and an excellent steady temperament.
2nd Cooke & Stevens'  Vellbern Dance For Me At Tickbern.  (Tickbern Over The Moon ex Ch
Vellbern You Japanese Gem).   11 months, a little long for balance and could be shorter  coupled.
Very well angulated and a good mover. Needs more confidence in being handled.  Good head,
shows a little haw. Had she been more confident could have reversed this placing.
3rd Granger's  Shirdees Harlow Jean Of Shadybower.  (Ch Jaybiem Utwo JW ShCM ex
Shirdees Chevrolet).
Special Junior Bitch (12 – 15 months) (6, 2)

(Two undershot jaws in this class)
1st Mair & Hartley-Mair's  Meadowpark Special Blend. (Ch Tjofselina's Z Diamuz At Fortonpark
JW ex Meadowpark Royal Blend)  12 months, convincing winner of this class. Beautiful quality,
excellent movement and shown in beautiful coat and condition.  Flat skull, good head and eyes.
Excellent forechest, carries herself well.  Good rib cage carried well back. A  touch long for perfect
balance but full of quality.
2nd Cooke & Stevens'  Tickbern Tassimo Mocha.  (Tickbern Over The Moon ex Ch Tickbern
Never Say Never).  12 months, a little short on the leg for perfect balance and not quite the fore-
chest of the winner but moved well and has a beautiful head and eye. Not as firm in topline as 1st.
3rd Green's  Kibou De Neboa De Meigas At Pasturegreen (imp Esp). (Alvin Real Class ex
Darlin Delice From Christofland).
Junior Bitch  (7, 1)
1st Miles'  Save Dallas Kiss For Jaybiem.
(Ch Jaybiem Innu Endo JW ShCM  ex Lujento Black
Betty). 17 months, good winner of this class for balance and movement.  Lovely head and eye.
Well angulated and this shows on the move. Could have just a touch more neck but carries herself
well and is full of type.
2nd Robinson's  Chippis Diamond Dream.  (Baronbern Dino No Two ex Chippis Black Diamond).
15 months, very nice quality bitch in lovely condition. Needs a touch more upper arm and this shows
in her front action. Quality feminine head which would be enhanced by a slightly darker eye. Good
side action and carriage. Lovely temperament.
3rd Johnson's  Monalou Bay Breeze.  (Ch Yoyo Van't Rijkenspark ex Monalou It's Marlene).
VHC in Junior, out of coat , looking a real teenager and needing to body up.  Clean action driving
well. Her head is a little plain at the moment and a little heavy in lip. Good topline and tail carriage.
Yearling Bitch  (10, 1)
Excellent class of quality bitches, the top 5 all full of quality
1st Marsden & Robertson's  Trudaleaze Majik Potion. (Ch Jaybiem Innu Endo JW ShCM ex
Trudaleaze I Am A Maze Zing).  18 months, lovely quality, beautiful balance and full of type.
Feminine head just needs a little more time to finish, excellent eye.  Beautiful quarters which she
uses really well. Just scored a little in front action to win this in a close decision and the Reserve
CC. Her handler is very laid back and could make more of her, as it is she did it all herself with
her natural balance and soundness.
2nd Bridges' Kernow Hello Old Friend. (Ch Kernow Rock Star ex Layla Puchate Kreple At
Kernow Imp Pol). Like the winner she took my eye from the first for her balance and carriage.
19 months, another lovely bitch so well balanced and carried herself well.  I slightly preferred her
head at the moment but she was not quite as free on the move but I was splitting hairs with these
two as like the winner,  she should have a good future.
3rd Weston's  Bernfawr In Vogue. (Ch Lujento Heyhobart with Welshbern ex Bernfawr Finesse).
Novice Bitch  (5, 2)
1st Miles' Save Dallas Kiss For Jaybiem.
2nd Spencer's  Waldershelf Ethels Way At Padiky.
(Int Ch Bernerdalens Jackpot ex Meadowpark
That's Royal At Waldershelf).   17 months, VHC in Junior and out of coat, looking a real teenager
and needing to body up. Clean action driving well.  Her head is a little plain at the moment and a little
heavy in lip. Good topline and tail carriage.
3rd Chippis Diamond In The Sky.  (Fairynight Van't Beertjeshof of Glanzberg ex Chippis Ebony
Graduate Bitch  (4, 2)
1st Bridges' Kernow Moon Song.
(Tickbern Over The Moon ex Kernow Uptou)  2 years, very well
balanced, good moving bitch who needs a little more body and more coat to finish her but excellent
type all through. Good head but eye could be a shade darker. Good bone, feet, colour and markings.
2nd Stelmach & Davis' Chippis Diamond In The Sky.  3rd in Novice.  3 years, strongly made but
carrying too much weight which affects topline and movement. Good head with flat skull, correct
stop. Eye could be darker.
Post Graduate Bitch  (9, 2)
1st Green's Alpenspirit Que Sera Sera (imp Can).
(Am Ch Alpenspirit's Star Player ex Alpenspirit
Imagine Obernois) 2 years, comfortable winner of this class.  Strong yet feminine and agile on the
move. True at  both ends. Strong bone and good proportions, holds her topline on the move.
2nd Cowell's Tickbern Rumour Has it At Danerysbern.  (Tickbern Over The Moon ex Tickbern
Knick Knack).  3 years.  I would like a little more bone and she has a little too much white on her leg
but a beautiful head and eye and good body proportions and sound movement and her steady
temperament moved her into this place.
3rd Shopland-Reed's  Fleur De Neboa De Meigas (imp Esp). (Daevaels Explorer ex Arwen De
Neboa De Meigas).
Mid Limit Bitch  (9, 3)
1st Miles, Hartley-Mair & Dybdall's Meadowpark Sweetest Thing At Jaybiem.
 (Ch Jaybiem
Utwo JW ShCM ex Meadowpark Sugar's Diva).  2 years. Lovely proportions but needs a little more
rib and body.Scored in her rear action and croup on the day. Feminine head which needs time.
Dark eye. Excellent movement and topline.
2nd Baldwin's  Meadowpark Living My Dream At Fortonpark.  (Ch Tjofselinas Z Diamuz At
Fortonpark ex Ch Meadowpark Living The Dream).  Looked like my winner standing but this 22
month lovely bitch was not in the best coat which detracted from her topline. Lovely head, good
chest and front angles, could be a little cleaner going away. At an adolescent stage.
3rd Bateman's  Lowcroft Athena At Santala.  (Clashaidy Eye Of The Storm ex Lowcroft
Limit Bitch  (12, 4)
1st Green's Fortonpark Millie My Love At Pasturegreen.
 (Ch Monalou Dutch Courage ex
Fortonpark Its A Star).  6 years old, excellent proportions, balance and movement.  Quality
feminine head, excellent legs and feet, very good stride. Could be a little firmer in topline but her
stride on the move put her here.
2nd Trevett's Vellbern The Raindancer.  (Terre Van De Weyenberg ex Ch Vellbern You
Japanese Gem) 2 years. Strong bitch who is beautifully made with very good qualities, good legs
and feet and very good head and eye. Standing she could have been my winner but with a new
handler to move her she did not match the stride and freedom of action of the winner.
3rd McCormick's Monalou Artic Queen. (Int Ch Bernerdalens Uno Amigo Bueno ex Ch Monalou
Little Miss Swiss).
Open Bitch  (10, 4)
1st Mair & Hartley-Mair's Meadowpark Perfect Blend.
(Ch Tangyachates Beachcomber ex
Meadowpark Royal Blend).  Almost 3 years.  Beautiful bitch with super bone, feet and wonderful
movement. Quality head and lovely eye, excellent rib cage. In great condition and has lovely
colours. Just a triffle long for perfect balance but her powerful, accurate movement and coat
condition won her the class and CC – her third. Reserve Best in Show.
2nd Ch Materabern Disco Diva.  (Ch Chyburne Classy Luka ex Materbern Cha Cha Cha).  4
years.  Another excellent bitch who has lovely proportions and correct balance. Holds her topline
on the move. Not quite the forechest of the winner or as clean in action but she pressed hard. I
like her a lot. Close up for the Reserve CC.
3rd Mair, Hartley-Mair & Dybdall's Ch Meadowpark Just A Dream.  (Ch Tjofselina's Z Diamuz
At Fortonpark JW imp Swe ex Ch Meadowpark Living The Dream).
Veteran Bitch  (6, 3)
I had to harden my heart to judge these objectively  - all credit to the breed
1st Green's Ch Waldershelf Happy Hattie.  (Ch Bernolyn Its Beano Surprise ex Quarts De
Chaume Van't Rijkenspark At Waldershelf).  8 years, lovely type and firm and light on her feet
which won her the class. Feminine head which needs a little more stop. Scored on her action and
form here today.
2nd Sutton's  Ch Bernsteph J'Adore Dior JW ShCM.  (Ch Bernolyn Its Beano Surprise ex
Ch Bernsteph Miss Dior).  Almost 10 years and standing could have won the class as she has a
better head. On the move she is very sound but a touch heavier in the body on the day and this
showed in her topline but she was giving 2 years away. Coat and colours are still beautiful.
3rd Harris' Vellbern Geisha Girl.  (Ch Kernow Oh So Special ex Ch Vellbern Japanese Queen).
Judge - Frank Kane
