Bernese News 7th September 2016


The Bernese entry for Richmond Championship Show 2016 has been announced as
60 exhibits giving 60 entries for all-rounder judge Albert Wight. 

For comparison the entry at Richmond 2015 was 90 entries with 22 absentees for breed
specialist judge Michael Forte (Leonfort).

The Bernese entry for Darlington Championship Show 2016 has been announced as
53 exhibits giving 53 entries for all-rounder judge Peter Jolley.

For comparison the entry at Darlington 2015 was 81 entries with 20 absentees for all-rouder
judge Liz Cartledge.


The September 2016 issue of the Kennel Club Journal is to hand and contains a few items of
particular interest to Bernese folk.

"Schedules are now available for the Northern Bernese Mountain Dog Club Open Show to be
held on Saturday 22nd October at Thorpe Willoughby Village Hall. If anyone requires a schedule
if they contact me or they can download from the NBMDC website or from the printers  This show is also one of the last to qualify your puppies or veterans
for the Superleague 2016 finals."

All-rounder Irene McManus was the judge at City of Birmingham Championship Show 2016
and she had 57 entries with 23 absentees across 18 classes.

Di Atherton handled Jackie Green's Canadian import Alpenspirit Pure Pleasure For Arvella to his
first CC. 3 1/2 years old, he was bred by Mylene Turbide and sired by Am Ch Alpenspirit Remember
Me x Alpenspirit Grey's Anatomy. 

The Reserve CC was awarded to Shandy Bridges' Kernow Something, a 2 tear old who is sired by
Ch Shirdees Love Me Do At Cullumbern JW ShCM x Kernow Uptou. 

Joanne &Trevor Sutton's homebred Ch Bernsteph Dior Remember Me Jw ShCM won her 5th CC
also took Best of Breed. Another 3 1/2 year old, she is a daughter of Tickbern Over The Moon x
iSennensson Nina Ricci At Bernsteph.

Harvestbank Fields of Gold JW ShCM was awarded the Reserve Bitch CC. 3 years old, she is
owned and homebred by Trish Goodyear and is sired by Ch Glamrock Ballroom Blitz By Glenbrienz
x Ch Harvestbank Chantilly Lace JW ShCM. 

Best Puppy was won by June Miles' hombred Jaybiem Burli Shassi, a 7 month old who is sired by
Ch Jaybiem Yeuben Chozen JW ShCM x Meadowpark Sweetest Thing Ay Jaybiem.
