"Preparations are well in hand for our next Club event - our 2019 Christmas Party so save the date and come along to join us for some festive fun!

A very bright and warm day met exhibitors arriving last Saturday at the Kennel Club Building at Stoneleigh for the BMD Club of Great Britain Championship Show 2019. A very busy venue often accommodating several events on the same day - this time there was a crafting event and a glamping event going on.

Thank you Club secretary Karen Bird for sending me a marked catalogue - much appreciated Karen.

Mark Wakeland (Bramikdel) was tasked with judging the 12 Dog classes and he found 52 entries with 7 absentees across 12 classes.

Trish Barr was judging the 12 classes of Bitches and had drawn 72 entries with 22 absentees.

There were two classes of Junior Handling achieving 4 entries with 1 absentee judged by Heather Head (Millermead). The Best Junior Handler was Sofia Ishaque aged 10 years.

There were five Limited Obedience classes totalling 15 entries with 1 absentee judged by Dave Pierson and Sandra Hallam's Arvella Sparkle At Oldberne was declared Best Working Dog.

For comparison the entry at the 2018 show was 68 entries with 11 absentees for Dog judge Jackie Green (Arvella), 79 entries with 23 absentees for Bitch judge John Jakobsen (Norway), 1 entry for Junior Handling judged by Steve Green (Waldershelf) and 36 entries in the Limited Obedience judged by Lynne Roberts.

Shandy Bridges had many reasons to celebrate, having a wonderfully successful day achieving both CCs thus making up two new Champions (subject to KC confirmation), Best in Show, Reserve Best in Show and Best Puppy with homebred stock.

The Dog CC, his 3rd plus Best in Show was awarded to Kernow Troubadour, the Bitch CC, her 3rd, was won by Kernow All My Loving (handled by Emma Akehurst) and the referee Tony Granger decreed that Best Dog Puppy and Best Puppy in Show was awarded to 11 month old Kernow Easy Rider who is a son of Ch Kernow Something ShCM x Kernow Speakeasy.

Julie Baldwin collected both Reserve CCs with father and daughter, namely Ch Meadowpark First Class For Fortonpark who is 4 years old, bred by Carole Hartley-Mair and the late Bernice Mair and sired by Ch Meadowpark Vertigo JW x Meadowpark One Lover and Julie's homebred Ch Fortonpark Sez I'm Classy, who is a 2 year old x Ch Fortonpark Dutch Delight.

Penny Cooke and Jim Stevens won Best Veteran Dog with their homebred Tickbern Ridin High, a 7 year old sired by Tickbern Over The Moon x Tickbern Knick Knack and also Best Bitch Puppy with their French import Penelope Du Roi Des Lacs.

Penny and Jim also bred the Best Veteran in Show, Jayne and Terry Richards' Ch Tickbern Naughty But Nice Von Richenbern who is 9 1/2 years old and sired by Monalou Touch Of Dutch To Glenbrienz x Tickbern Knick Knack.
Congratulations.

After the show Jayne Richards emailed;

Julie Ann Wright emailed;

"Returning to France to see all my friends again was brilliant despite the weather that was forecast for the Sunday.

"The regionals of Limousin were held at a fantastic venue in Sereilhac surrounding a lake, there were facilities to camp and lots of places to walk the dogs, Superbly organised and run extremely smoothly by Annick and her team.

"Saturday is the character tests and in the evening a very welcoming and enjoyable evening meal that gets everyone chatting about our passion for the breed.

"Sunday is show day. A fantastic turn out with 146 entries over the 4 Swiss breeds.

"Everyone still enjoyed the day despite the horizontal rain that started at 9.30 and just stopped for the “ring of honour” the trophy’s were outstanding.

"Best in Show goes to Neron’s Mini Cooper De La Vallee De La Veude (Gorgeous Du Mas De Giversey x Indiana De La Vallee De L’Hyrome)
Judges :- Jacques Leroy-Napoli & Christian Jouanchicot".
